Thank you for your interest in the
Toddlers’ Tango experience! I believe
that exposure to music and movement
at a young age holds a value for
young children that is immeasurable.

Toddlers' Tango grew out of my
experience with dance therapy and through
my active involvement in my own children's
musical development. While studying dance
therapy, I discovered the mental and physical
joys of feeling happy, safe and free to move and sing. There is a
strong relationship between music and the development of
self-confidence, which is the foundation that enables humans
to tackle life’s challenges.

I created Toddlers’ Tango in 2000 when my son Tal was
19 months old and I was pregnant with my fourth child. I realized
the importance and benefits of introducing music, dance and
the use of instruments during their infancies.

I began conducting two classes in the Syracuse University area,
which has grown to thirteen different locations and five contractors
teaching classes in Central New York and North Carolina. Toddlers’
Tango is taught at the Montessori School of Syracuse and the Bernice
M. Wright Child Development Laboratory School at Syracuse University
as pre-school music and movement classes.

A portion of the proceeds from Toddlers’ Tango goes to the
Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Fund, Inc. As a breast cancer
survivor since 2001, I consider every day a blessing. Teaching
Toddlers’ Tango classes has brought such joy and light to my life -
I invite you to join in and bring it to yours.

“I'm a children's librarian at Liverpool Library.
We have had Toddlers Tango demo programs 3 or 4 times
and they've always been popular. We also have your
video. Your program is terrific! I like how you encourage
kids to play all your fun instruments.”

“I am happy to offer the very highest recommendation
for the Toddlers Tango program. It is a very enjoyable and
developmentally appropriate program for young children.

Parents are thrilled whenever it is offered at our library.
Sessions are always filled, and we often have a waiting list.
Not only do the parents and children come to the
program, but they stay and use the library!! Circulation
statistics are always high on Toddlers Tango days!!

We started with a free demo, and now offer the program
on a regular basis. Give Toddlers Tango a try.
I know you will love it!!”

“Toddlers’ Tango is an excellent music program! Its interactive format
encourages social language and peer interaction. The wonderful array
of songs enriches vocabulary and exposes children to foreign languages.
I highly recommend it.”

Heather McNally Hsu M.S., CCC-SLP
Speech-Language Pathologist, Mother to Zachary and Anna

“Toddlers’ Tango is a well crafted, developmentally appropriate movement
curriculum that has something for everyone. Highly recommended!”

Susan Quinn, Ph.D.
Department of Child and Family Studies, Syracuse University

“Toddlers’ Tango is a favorite at our preschool. Tamar’s talent
of integrating world music into interactive music and movement activities
for young children is impressive. The variety of instruments and props keep
children and adults moving to the rhythms. This program is a winner.”

Daria Webber, Director
Bernice M. Wright Child Development Laboratory School at Syracuse University

“Children of various backgrounds and abilities benefit from engaging daily in
whole group times involving music and movement. Toddlers’ Tango provides
this active period for children while exposing them to a unique repertoire of
music (incorporating props) as well as teaching finger plays and dance moves.
Music stimulates the mind and helps develop listening skills thus communication
while movement provides input to our children’s rapidly growing bodies.
Following active participation in movement, children are better able to focus
during both learning opportunities with their peers through play and teacher
directed activities in the classroom.”

Jenny O’Hara-Callaghan
(Bernice M. Wright/Jowonio Collaboration)

“All four of my children LOVE Toddlers’ Tango. We have been going since my
oldest (now 8) was little. When Nancy was just 2 1/2 she would tell me "Tango
makes me happy." Now at 3 1/2 she teaches her own version of Toddler's Tango
to her 1 year old sister, Alice, while listening to the Toddlers’ Tango CD in our
living room. Now Alice knows all the moves to "Chey Chey" and "the la la
song" when she goes to class. We can't get enough of Toddler's Tango!”

Inge O’Connor, DeWitt, NY

“My name is Bridget and my two children (ages 1 and 2) have just started the
Toddlers' Tango in the Clay area. Our instructor is Christi and I just have to tell
you what a WONDERFUL class this is and how great Christi is. My children
LOVE everything about this. Thank you for offering this class for Moms who are
constantly looking for ways to engage our children. I also just ordered the
Instruments and video. Again, thank you!!”

Bridget Wojslaw, Baldwinsville, NY

“My husband, son and I had recently moved to Syracuse when we started
our Toddlers’ Tango classes. We had taken numerous other types of
child music classes in our old location, but this one was by far the best.
Tamar has created an environment where the children have FUN while
learning about music (of many types, mostly original songs) through
listening, singing and dancing or moving (and use of fun props such as
musical instruments, oversized toothbrushes and a parachute). I feel
that frequent and first-hand exposure to music is a necessary, integral part
of my child's early development. Toddlers’ Tango not only satisfies
that need while offering an exciting environment my
child looks forward to all week.”

Karen Hajdu, Syracuse, NY

“After having taught elementary school for ten years I had the
opportunity to stay home with my two young children. Though I loved
staying home I was always searching for a way to earn extra income and
have contact with other adults. I learned about Toddlers’ Tango after
taking my children to a demonstration class. My daughter who was 22
months at the time LOVED it, I loved every class meeting. I was having
as much fun as both of my children were.
I've been offering Toddlers’ Tango sessions for nearly a year. I give
classes around my children's schedules and I still bring my daughter to
one class a week. The response has been tremendous. I've been very
happy, and feel very fortunate to have found Toddlers’ Tango. I highly
recommend it to any mom who is full of energy, loves to socialize and
wants to have time for a career and their children.”

Christi Pluff, Elementary Teacher, Syracuse, NY

“As a Toddlers' Tango instructor, I get to witness, first hand,
the benefits that this program offers. During my classes, the smiles,
laughter, and enthusiasm "bubble over" to create an atmosphere
of excitement and fun.
The language, exploration, creativity, and self-expression of the
children are incredible to watch, as it transforms throughout the
sessions. Being a part of Toddlers' Tango is an inspiration
and a delight!”

Maureen Goodell, Mooresville, North Carolina
